November retained its name (from the Latin novem meaning "nine") when two months (January and February) were added to the original ten month (Roman) calendar. Because originally November was the ninth month of the calendar Romulus c. 750 BC.
Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh were formed on November 1 so this day is recognized as Statehood day or State Formation Day. Karnataka Rajyotsava is always celebrated on this day as Karnataka formation day every year.
World Vegan day is an annual event celebrated by Vegans (who avoid all animal sourced products including eggs, honey and dairy) on every November 1.
Mr. V.V.S. Laxman (former Indian Cricket player), Mrs. Nita Ambani (Founder-chairperson of the Dhirubhai Ambani International School) and Mrs. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (former Miss World) are also born on day of 1st November.
